I really wanted to like Rohn's story, but I got tired of him being described so often as "old" at 43. I got that he was FEELING old, but there was more than one reference to gray in his eyebrows, and that annoyed me a lot. And I didn't much like Bonnie, especially (spoiler alert) when she ran away, again--understandable the first time but not as an adult.
10 stars just for the cover photo.....good love story, although, I think most men would have a hard time forgiving a woman for doing what she did to him, considering his situation....would recommend reading.
Oklahoma nights and Midnight cowboys is one my favorite series. And I'm not just saying that because I'm from Oklahoma. Lol. The stories are so wonderful, they just draw you in and you never want them to end. Cat Johnson paints such a realistic picture that you can't help but put yourself in place of one of her characters. I'll be pre-order her next book. I can't wait.
Can you really find your way back to each other? Rohn and Bonnie were each others first love and then were separated by circumstances. Rohn moved on with his live and married Bonnie never did. And then Bonnie has to come back to Montana for a funeral and they see each other again. Can they rekindle what they once had?? Cat wove a beautiful story together and I liked that they were mature (not old) adults.
I ended up enjoying this book a lot more than I thought I would. While I did enjoy the whole thing, it took me a while to get truly hooked. It felt like Cat Johnson flipped between the past (when Bonnie and Rohn were 18 and graduating from high school in 1990) and the present (2015) quite a bit during the first part of the book. While I enjoyed the glimpses of their past, I enjoyed the book more once the last flashback had taken place. I did spend a good portion of that time just waiting for the other shoe to drop and for things to go horribly wrong when Bonnie told Rohn her secret. I was pleasantly surprised by his reaction. I thought it was prefect. I also enjoyed Tyler, Cole, and Justin's characters. All three were full of life and attitude. They were lovingly intrusive and occasionally frustrating. Overall, I did enjoy the book and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Midnight Heat.

Rohn and Bonnie were high school sweethearts and then she was gone. Fast forward twenty-five years and she shows back up in town. Rohn had been married but lost his wife five years ago and was so lonesome. After seeing Bonnie after so many years he want to be friends and may be find out what happen pantyhose years ago. Bonnie had secrets that she thought was unforgivable. Though they fell back in with each other easily plus Bonnie had always only loved Rohn . But when push comes to shove and the truth comes out and she runs again will they be able to find a forever kind of love?
