I thought this book had a lot of information for parents. It was detailed enough for boys to understand the Boy Scout program and gave a good frame work to assist parents and sons in selecting a Troop. It was also good in outlining the role of adults in the Boy Scout program as compared to the Cub Scout program. The role is quite different. I liked that it was easy to read and often was in outline/bulletin form. It is more a reference book then a novel.

Any scouter or scout parent should consider this the holy grail of the patrol method. A great leadership learning model brought to life. We wish our unit leader would read and embody this! Looking for a new unit with adults who do.
great book and in great condition
I am a new Scoutmaster and was finding it all a bit overwhelming and confusing, so when I saw this book I couldn't wait to get it and see if it could help me or not. Well, it did! It gave enough detail to help me understand most of the things I just didn't quite get, but couldn't find described anywhere else.
